Letter To Americans
From - Mackinley Byrd (Governor)
To my fellow Americans,

I’m not here to play politics. I’m not here to sugarcoat the truth. And I’m certainly not here to tell you what you want to hear—I’m here to tell you what you already know deep down: America has lost its backbone.

We’ve watched this country drift from the values that made it great—hard work, personal responsibility, and the courage to stand tall when things get tough. Our leaders play games while working families struggle. They chase headlines instead of solutions. They sell us out, and they sell us short.

I didn’t grow up privileged. I wasn’t handed success—I fought for it. At 17 years old, I put on the uniform and served our country, standing alongside men and women who understood what real duty and sacrifice meant. I saw what leadership looks like in its purest form—not people hiding behind podiums, but leaders standing on the front lines, making tough calls.'

After coming home from my deployment in Guantanamo Bay, I got to work. I built businesses from the ground up, taking the discipline and grit I learned in the military and applying it to the real world. That’s the America I believe in—the one where hard work gets rewarded, not punished.

Today, we see an America where our values are mocked, where our economy is being driven into the ground, and where people in power prioritize their own interests over yours. I refuse to stand by while our future gets sold to the highest bidder.

That’s why I’m running for Governor. Not for the politics, not for the title, but for the fight. The fight to bring back the backbone.

It starts with us—with our values, our work ethic, and our faith

The fight for America’s future isn’t years away—it’s here, it’s now. The question is: Will you step up?

This isn’t about left or right. It’s about right and wrong.
It’s about restoring what we’ve lost and securing a future where hard work, integrity, and faith lead the way.
It’s about bringing back the backbone.

If you’re ready to take action, I invite you to stand with me.
