In an age like today, the concept of freedom might almost be esoteric for some. Am I talking about freedom of thought? Physical freedom? Or Spiritual freedom, as some might call enlightenment. However you see freedom, the definition of freedom is "the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint."
Now, when we look at the definition of fear it's stated "an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat." I have a question for you, why is that all animals of the jungle are afraid of the lion? Is it because of his claws? Is it because of his roar? What is it that makes the lion fearful?
When we go back to the definition of freedom, we understand that freedom includes 'Action' and 'Speech'. The ability to act as you please and speak as you please. When i see a lion, I see an animal that is not domesticated in its actions nor in its roar, a lion has the freedom of choice and fears very little, if ever.
Obviously a lion is free, compared to the zebra who is fearful of the lion. What animal do you relate with emotionally? I'm sure you would want to say the lion, but do you fear? Do you worry about circumstances that are out of your control?
If you understand animal nature, you can't be fearful and free at the same time. A free lion fears not, and a domesticated zebra fears a lot. Leading me to ask, are you living a free life, or a domesticated life?
A free life, is a life where you have the ability to choose, to choose what you say and to choose what you do. You create your schedule and take control over your emotions, actions, thoughts and outcomes, because you understand with freedom comes responsibility. Having studied lions in the past, one thing i noticed was their ability to choose. Lion's aren't so worried about hunting their prey, as much as they are worried about hunting the biggest prey. When most animals settle for less, lions choose the best.
A domesticated life, is a life of worry, constant fear of the unknown. Living in terror mentally, physically and emotionally, a life resembling servitude. In today's society, i see more people dealing with anxiety attacks, taking anti depressants and pain medication. I also see mainstream media reinforcing negative thought patterns and bias beliefs in the minds of many. More people today who call themselves free, are not free enough to take care of their own health, mental state or even spiritual well being, why is this? Because they have lived the domesticated life unconsciously, and are dependent on the approval of government, schools, systems and companies to determine their joy, freedom and ultimate power of choice. Are you living domesticated, or free?
